Meet the staff of New  Life Community Church

  • Jim beezley

    Lead Pastor

Pastor Jim has been married to his high school sweetheart, Angela, for the past 13 years. They have two amazing gifts, Jackson, who is 9, and Jovie, who is 7. He loves playing with his kids, dating his wife, being outdoors enjoying nature and playing sports. He also enjoys creating music. He grew up in West Michigan, graduating from Reeths-Puffer High School, earning his BA from Michigan State University in Education, and M. Divinity from Western Theological Seminary. Although growing up in the church, Jim wrestled with complete surrender until mid way through college. He came face to face with grace after questioning the faith he grew up with. While listening to Lifehouse's "Hanging by a Moment" he felt the nudge of the Spirit confronting his rebellion and calling him to the life Jesus died for. He answered by faith and continues to answer. God gave Jim a great passion for people, wanting to see them break the apathetic or routine approach of religion, and instead embrace the life of faith that Jesus calls us to in following Him. For Jim, this faith journey has led him out of teaching and into ministry. He has been a youth pastor, worship director, twenty and thirty-somethings pastor, and now serves as the lead pastor at New Life.

  • Sarah sikkenga

    Children's Ministry director

I grew up in the West Michigan area after spending some time with family in Tulsa Oklahoma as a younger child while my Dad went to Rhema Bible College. I graduated from High School at North Muskegon. I attended multiple colleges including Calvin College and Muskegon Community College before completing a bachelors degree In early childhood education at Ferris State University. I have worked as an early childhood educator since 2008 mainly teaching preschool. I am honored to be the the wife of Brian Sikkenga and the mother of my two bonus kids: Lauren (21) and Bryce (17) and our son Samuel (9). I am blessed beyond measure by my family! I  recently grew in my walk with the Lord in 2018 when I made the decision to get baptized and re-commit myself and my missional capacity to the Lord and his will. I made the decision to go back to school once again in order to continue the work that God started in me. I now have completed a Master’s degree in early childhood education and continue to work full time as a preschool teacher while I commit to the children’s ministry here at New Life kids. I can’t wait to see the work that God will do through me as I learn and grow with the kids at New Life.

  • Alex lynch

    Worship director

My wife and I are grateful to be back in Michigan with our family which includes Kate, Devinajiah, Rory and our dog Moose. Some things that interest me are music, cheering on my teams – the Chiefs, Royals, Jayhawks -, wakeboarding and snowboarding, video games and board games. I attended Indiana Wesleyan and have 2 degrees for Christian Worship and Marketing. I sell insurance full time at State Farm and I am your good neighbor :) I love getting to help customers everyday with their needs and serving them. I am excited for the work of God and bringing Him glory with you all. In college, I heard God ask me, “If you enjoy singing, why don’t you this for my glory?" I am thankful to be at New Life and go on this journey together. My favorite verses come from Hebrews 12:1-2. Look it up :)

    Administrative assistant

Like the rest of the staff, Ashleigh has grown up in West Michigan, graduating from Grand Haven High School and Grand Valley State University. Ashleigh graduated from GVSU with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Group Social Studies with an emphasis in History. On top of working at New Life, she works with EL students at a local school district. Ashleigh's interests include; reading, cooking, traveling ( like to England, where her brother and his family live), politics/current events, spending time with her parents and grandparents, and catching up on historical dramas. Ashleigh grew up in the church, however, she didn't comprehend what it truly meant to be a Christ follower until a few years ago. She now knows that the Gospel is for everyone and that all Christ followers are meant to be disciples. Because of her social studies/education background, Ashleigh's favorite Bible verse is Galatians 3:28. In the past, Ashleigh has worked at NLCC as the interim children's ministry director. Currently, she works as the administrative assistant.  Ashleigh enjoys working "behind the scenes" and getting things ready for Sunday mornings and creating/publishing all of New Life's forms of communication.
