The Children’s Ministry Director is a position that is focused on the spiritual formation and development of children ages 0-14, both those who are active in the life of New Life Community Church and the wider community. The director embodies and cultivates New Life’s mission of a Family, Redeemed in Christ, Centered in His Word, and Sent in His mission, both in their own life and for those who participate in the Kid Zone. This position shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ and understands the importance of its impact on the next generation of leaders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage Kidz Zone on Sundays- building relationships with kids, parents, and volunteers; classroom preparation and setup; incidents in the Kidz Zone; etc.
Cultivate the vision and mission of being a Family, Redeemed in Christ, Centered in His Word, and Sent in His mission in the Kidz Zone
Order supplies, resources, curriculum, and ministry preparations
Attend weekly staff meetings
Recruit Kidz Zone volunteers for Teaching, Support, and Administrative roles for ages 0-14
Encourage and support Kidz Zone volunteers
Quarterly Kidz Zone Volunteer meetings that cast vision, provide training, and coordinate upcoming lessons and events
Communicate with families- connecting Weekly Sunday experience to home life and partnering with parents in the discipleship process
Equip parents with encouraging words, tips, tools to support them in shepherding their kids
Keeping Kidz Zone web platforms (web-site, Facebook, email, etc.) current in all aspects that communicate our kids ministry to parents, the church, and the local community
Coordinate and plan Christmas and Easter program in conjunction with Lead Pastor and Worship Director
Participate in the communities of Norton Shores-Fruitport-Spring Lake
Other duties as assigned

Demonstrated skills in organization and preparation
Dedicated collaborator and team player
Willingness to think creatively, to approach problems in new ways and embrace change
Associate’s Degree in Teaching, Child Care, Spiritual Formation, or related field; or 3 years of equivalent experience
Currently active in a leadership role in a church community
Belief in the doctrine of both New Life Community Church and the Reformed Church of America
