bringing the community together to bring good together.
On September 28th, we will be hosting the third annual COMMUNITY CAMPFIRE! Imagine a parking lot party with a bonfire in the middle... live music... corn hole... car show... hay rides... food and beverages... fun kids activities... 50-50 raffle and more!
This community event was birthed out of a heart to bring the community together for a great night of fun and a great cause. While the event is free, we collect donations throughout the evening to raise money to address an unmet need in our community.
In the past we helped raise $3,000 for the purchase of a house for the Step Up organization, which helps young adults who have aged out of the foster care system transition into adulthood with the support everyone needs to thrive. Last year we addressed the lack of help for those struggling with mental health, by raising $2,000 for a counseling fund accessible to our community through Compassionate Christian Counseling. This year we will be raising awareness of how trauma impacts childhood development and raising money to help Ross Park Elementary meet needs of students through a clothing closet, snack pantry, and more.
DONATIONS: We will be collecting financial donations for these endeavors along with clothing donations at this event. Our hope is to raise $3,000 through the community.
- Clothing: The greatest needs are for kids between pre-school-3rd grade shoes, boys pants, underwear, socks, snow pants, mittens and hats.
- Financial: We will have donation boxes at the event. However, you can also donate by sending a check to New Life Community Church, putting Community Campfire in the memo, OR online.
Location: New Life Community Church Parking lot (4095 Grand Haven Rd)
